Name my little roolet!

This fellow is 12 weeks old, hatched from Susan's pair of EOs. He is a nice friendly little guy who I think will be a keeper so he needs a name, suggestions?

What a Gorgeous roo, lovely yellow legs too  I think he looks like a Wellington to me.  Or maybe Percy. Or you could go Spanish, Eduardo, Manuel.

Well I am thinking of a couple of Spanish explorer's names like Cortez or Ponce De Leon so "Leon"???  Nice looking young fellow.

Re: Name my little roolet!

Nice rooster, I'm not much with names, that's why my big EO rooster is still the big EO rooster upstairs!  I'm still trying to decide what to call the latest heifer calf we got.  her dam is Danish so i was thinking Donut but if she turns out to be a great cow i don't want her to be a donut!

Let's see. He was from  Sparkle and Sequin.  How about Buttons or I know! - Stud!  I'll have to ask my daughter as she's the one who came with their names.

Re: Name my little roolet!

Keep the names coming...

I tried out Wellington as a name tonight though and it just might stick! We spent some serious cuddle time talking about it. I often hold off naming roosters as, well...names on the freezer bags are just not my thing

But unless he turns mean he's a keeper. His sister is the nicest EO pullet I have too. Sparkle and Sequin.

Re: Name my little roolet!

Ok well, Wellington it is, Wellie for short!

But Gem was too good a name to pass up Island Girl (and I think Susans's Sparkle and Sequin theme discussion  was the inspiration) so Gem will be my beautiful pullet's name!

Note one of his brothers is a bit darker in color and a truly beautiful young lad...I guess the time is coming for me to post pictures of this lot and the older ones from SLF for help selecting who I should keep and to try to rehome as many of the others as possible!!

Plan a road trip to Edmonton area EO fans and you will be richly rewarded!!

Re: Name my little roolet!

Wellie and Gem, perfect =D and yes it was the 'Susan's Sparkle and Sequin theme discussion' for inspiration! Will there be any pullets going to Edmonton? On occasion someone I know goes that way and back to the Island again.

Re: Name my little roolet!

I am very pleased with the new names! I would not have come up with those on my own

I will post pictures of my girls soon Island Girl...if you have a ride and are interested in them I could bring some pullets to or near to Edmonton I think. I would just love to find homes for them all! Just that by the end of September I need to be downsized as we are away for two weeks so the neighbours will be caring for the animals.
