Hi from West Grey

Unlike my friend Wycrazy who decided to have a name change I decided to stick with my old name. Thanks Claire for introducing me to another site to link up with more chicken nuts. I currently have a mixed flock because I can't decide which breed I like best. Included in the numbers are two lovely Basques from Claire and I heard a little while ago that possibly two more little ladies will be joining us here.
Unlike many others I don't breed my birds, I have them because I like having them around and I'm not adversed to taking in the odd misfit or two.
Although that might change as I bought my Husband an incubator for his birthday in September but shhhh it's a secret.
Looking forward to chatting with everyone
LL

Re: Hi from West Grey

Welcome Lindy Lou!! I jave to admit,I also just love having birds because I, well, love them!  The EOs will be my first attempt at breeding and otherwise have no big plans to go into breeding. I just want to make sure they don't disappear from Canada and that manu more people can enjoy them :)

Re: Hi from West Grey

:welcome: Lindy Lou! I would love to find some pet homes for some of my extra EOs out in Alberta! It is great that some people are just owners and enjoyers of chickens as that means that there are homes out there for the birds that are as sweet as ever but just not breeding quality.

Very glad to meet you!

Re: Hi from West Grey

Thanks for the warm welcome. Firstly Hi Chicken Buddy. Ready for another day out? I have family up in Nipawin, Sask so have drove through Saskatoon a few times. I  also lived in Edmonton for 10 years as a kid so love the praires and the mountains. So it's nice to find chicken lovers out west that relate to loving birds and especially EO's.
Thanks Claire for the site, looks great. I'm sure you spent a lot of time putting it together. Hopefully we can spread the word about these wonderful birds and help to maintain their presence here in Canada.

Re: Hi from West Grey

Where's Flowerpot Island, is it around Tobermory??  This one in Penetang is 3 hours it takes you out the the bay area out around all the islands and the beautiful cottages,  I have been once and really enjoyed it.
