Woodstove Restrictions?

I heard that Canada has strict regulations on woodburning stoves. Is this true?

Not really sure Skyline, but I know your insurance goes up if you have one.

Re: Woodstove Restrictions?

We had to discontinue using ours because our uninsulated stove pipe was more then 8 feet long or no insurance!

Re: Woodstove Restrictions?

If you have a Woodburning stove installed it must be Wett inspected by a Wett Inspector. There are strict guidelines regarding the type of stove, chimney, height of chimney, hearth dimensions etc. Our insurance company insists that we have our chimney swept every year and your insurance can go up. We went through all the red tape when we put ours in.
