He looks very nice FRF! Are both the ladies in front of him bielefelder pullets/hen?

Yes they are.  Wonder what I would get if I bred him to EO hens :chairhide: LOL

Re: If he was only a EO

A lot of grey, but aside from that I think the differences are more in regards to type. The obvious traits like single comb, yellow skin, red earlobes, brown eggs, even barring are all there.

Breed back to EOs for 2-3 generations with select for the most EO like and maybe you would be happy you tried it?

Hmmm something to think about .  He does have a beautiful gold chest and very docile temperament, just can't see it in that picture.

Re: If he was only a EO

He is pretty, when I had seen this breed I often wondered if anyone had crossed the Bielefelder's and E.O.'s.  What is the differences between the birds.  I am not great at bird genetics so I have a hard time seeing the difference. :duh:

Re: If he was only a EO

I am not into the genetic stuff either HR.  The only difference I know is the Bielefelder's are auto sexed at day olds, they are a bigger bird than EO's.

My trio is just only 7 months old, the girls still haven't started laying yet!!!
