Many losses

http://i1113.photobucket.com/albums/k515/s_buttivant/july.jpg

We've lost 6 chickens this month to a fox.  Very sad indeed.  These 5 babies are now 3 (2 roosters & 1 hen).  The fox is even trying to dig under the fences.  It has become a real battle and the poor chickens are hardly getting outside at all.

Re: Many losses

What a shame I am so sorry to hear :(.  Darn fox, if I was closer I would loan you my dog, she's the best predator eliminator.  Need to maybe sit out with these :gunslinger:

Hope you can stop it and keep your chicken safe.

Re: Many losses

I am sorry to hear of your lose Amblecroft. I have been very fortunately this year so far, our livestock guardian dog is doing an amazing job that I hope he is able to continue with.

Have you lost birds of all ages?

Yes, Popular Girl, I've lost 1 Amerucana, and the rest have been EO hens from the 2 babies and 1, 2 & 3 yrs olds.

Re: Many losses

How awful!! I hope you are able to bag your fox Amblecroft!

All my babies from you (and thus their genetics in case your fox problem worsens) are doing well. 11 cockerels, 3 pullets unfortunately. Photobucket is currently not cooperating or I would share some pictures!
