My EOs

Here they are.  Some of the pictures are not current but you can get an idea what they look like.

These ones are 10 months old (not in the pictures).

Re: My EOs

There are two white ones, one light than the other.  For sure one is a male, the other one I'm not sure.  I would say they came from the Marraduna eggs as the markings are quite even.

I swear there must be something in the air here.  Several of my baby Ameraucanas are acting like boys already too!
I've had four hatches and every one had more males (sometimes a lot more) than females.

Re: My EOs

I like your pair from FRF shnookie. Its strange the cockerels tail is almost unbarred although clearly he is marraduna.

On the wee ones, I think you're right, lots of boys. My luck with shipped eggs is similar to yours! Lots of grey on some of those babies too. How are they for other traits, like nice yellow legs? Combs without side sprigs? Size?

Re: My EOs

There are Marraduna and Speckled ones in the group.  I'm not sure exactly which ones are the speckled ones, but it is getting easier to tell.  A couple have split wings, a few look like they have slipped? wings (missing or short feather in the middle), a couple have greenish legs, but I guess that could change, on a quick look some combs are good and some look odd, some have short necks that I don't like.  I am going to take a good look at each one individually and take pictures (if they will sit still) when I clean their pen.  Most of these are bigger at 4 weeks than my ones from Flat Rock Farm were (they were hatched in mid-August, not spring).  They had to be covered at 3 weeks because they were flying across the pen.

Re: My EOs

Here are a couple of recent pictures of the boys from Flat Rock Farm.  Number 2 roo has bent his comb by flying into the wire on his pen so it doesn't look as good.

Number 1 - he has a smaller body than Number 2, but isn't as skinny as this picture makes him look.
