one roo down and one hen missing

I only had 2 EO's to start with.  One had to be put down early this week.  Not sure what happened but it looked like both wings were affected and the hip joint.  The bird was suffering terribly so without giving too much thought we had to free it from it's pain.  I feel bad that he is gone but on the other hand, we just couldn't let him live like that.  Now where is my second EO?  I can't find it.  Barn is predator proof at this point.  She was there on the weekend and now I can't find her.  We have some plastic on a few walls so today when we get home from work, we will have to take some of the plastic off and see if she is behind the wall.

I can only wonder that perhaps the roo got hurt by going into the same place the hen is now.  I would hate to have to put another one down too.

Bessie,

I'm sorry about your lad, and I hope you find your girl! Upsetting to wonder where she is.....

When all else fails, go spend time with your chickens. :)

Re: one roo down and one hen missing

no sign of her yet.  DH said he thought he saw her yesterday AM but when I got back from work, I couldn't see her.  Not so lucky that she's sitting on eggs somewhere.
