Re: New blood!!

Monika - I didn't know you loved in Canada. I don't have NPIP certification and it's too much of a hassle to get it right now. I'm sorry :-(

Re: New blood!!

Hi Meg, with so many of us wanting eggs from you up here in Canada, :Canada: any chance you could figure out the cost of getting your NPIP and distributing the fee between us?  Obviously we want to do everything properly by the book, it is worth it.  It we can help with the expense to get new blood here that would be great.  Would it be too costly?

All the best,

Re: New blood!!

Well I think I live too far north to join in on eggs that need to be picked up at the boarder. But I do commit to helping those :Canada: who get the first eggs from Meg recoup their costs by buying hatching eggs from them!

Re: New blood!!

Meg, I think the key thing will be to find out how long the NPIP is good for, how much it will cost and how many of us will commit to orders so you can split the cost us and ship while the NPIP is valid. :please:

Re: New blood!!

Hi guys!! Still haven't gotten my NPIP, but wanted to let everyone know that we are accepting orders for the wait list this hatching year! We are offering 1 dozen eggs for $90 or 2 dozen for $160. You can get all Basque's or mix and match with Pita Pinta hatching eggs as well.

I hope everyone is doing great! I have been so busy with vet tech school I've barely had a chance to "advertise" our eggs. Thanks everyone and happy 2014! :happycrowd"

Re: New blood!!

If I remember correctly, the NPIP would have allowed us to submit the NPIP at the Border so the eggs could come over?
Are there U.S members interested in purchasing from Meg and planning to get their NPIP down the road?

Re: New blood!!

Hi again Meg, just wondering if the list of names for hatching eggs that you are gatherings now is for once you have the NPIP in place? I dearly want to be on your list but want to ensure that the paperwork is all above board. Also wondering if the $90 per dozen includes  any paperwork costs or is that for the eggs only?  I have never picked up eggs from the border so  any info you know about that would be appreciated. Can you share with me how your fertility and hatching rates have been and of course any noteworthy characteristics that are standing out in your chicks would be good to know. I know a lot of questions but this would be quite an adventure and I need to be sure of the details. I am eagerly waiting to hear :excited:  now I will spend a few hours cleaning out my pm box so I can be prepared for a  new season of fun  :surfing:

XOX Monika

Edited to add: I rock!  Got my pm's down to 5%

Re: New blood!!

Hi Guys! So sorry that I never check my messages! I got engaged a few months ago and am planning two weddings (one in California in June and one in Spain in July!) I still don't have my NPIP in order to ship some eggs to the people up in Canada.. and I really don't see myself getting it any time soon with all of the craziness going on. If someone in the US wants to buy the eggs from me and then figure out a way to get them to Canada that's totally fine, I just don't personally want to try to ship them up there without an NPIP.

We haven't had many orders this year. We are actually thinking of getting rid of the Basques. I thought that bringing in new blood would cause a huge stir and that we could easily afford the upkeep of the chickens... but sadly that is not the case and I am losing money left and right. I'm trying to hold out as long as possible but I don't know how long I can keep my fiancé at bay when he's paying most of the chicken costs right now.

If anyone is interested in eggs please email me at Meg2000000@gmail.com (that's 6 zeros). I rarely check this forum or BYC anymore. I hope everyone is well and your flocks are healthy and happy!

Re: New blood!!

Maybe someone in the U.S. would be interested in buying your flock or at least a trio?
