First day out in awhile.........

I know winter is not over but the past few days have been much milder and decided to shovel a spot and let the EO's out.

First one thinking about it:                                                                                                            First group out:

Getting used to the white stuff......LOL

Little Miss Nosy:                                                                                                                           Even my cat Chloe wanted to see what they were up to and jumped up on the shed:

Re: First day out in awhile.........

Well today I got 14 eggs :excited:.  That's the most in one day I have gotten since the Fall.

Bring on Spring :cheer:

They really enjoyed their day out today.  I am sure it will be the last one for a bit as it's to get colder again starting tomorrow until the weekend.

Re: First day out in awhile.........

Ours are still stuck in the barn for now.  We have not cleared a path for them as yet.  Egg production seems to be on the rise here as well.  Bring on the daylight.  I'm so ready for spring to arrive.

Lovely photos of your crew there Paula.

What a gorgeous group of EOs FRF  You're going to have some beautiful chicks come spring I predict

Supposed to be -31 C here tonight and cold all week, guess our ground hog got all mixed up!

Re: First day out in awhile.........

Oh PG -31 brrrrrr.  Tonight -14 then daytime temps for the rest of the week to be -12C and nights getting down in -22C again.  This week was nice to see +4 and 2 nights in a row I did not have to dump out the water bottles as they did not freeze.

Thanks PG & MGF I am pleased with this group, there was still a few hens inside the barn.   Poor Michael got bad frostbite on his comb and Kazoo didn't and his comb was just as big??

Re: First day out in awhile.........

looking good!  I have drifts high enough for the kids to toboggan where my chicken fence is.  I guess this year would have been the winter to take down the fence!

Yikes gubi you for sure have more snow than us.  Your poor chickies will be in there for another month I think unless we get one heck of a mild spell
