HATCHING EGGS - What does your price reflect?

pg had me thinking about this in another post and I wanted to have further discussion on this point alone. You know how I like to 'think everything to death' especially when I am bored out of my tree. ...  too many cliches!

So I am going to make a list of the all the things that I take into consideration when I am pricing out my eggs and I would love for u to add to it anything that comes to mind, discussion always welome.   :surfing:

- Do I have a good roo with suitable traits to pass on?

- Do I have suitable hens also with good traits to pass on?

- Have I had the time/facilities to do test hatches?

- Do I have someone available to collect/store eggs properly when I can not?

- Do people want EO hatching eggs?

- Are my hens laying well?

- Are my hens laying good quality eggs?

- Do I have the time and energy? *** This is a biggie for me***

- Do I have enough packing material to keep price down?

- Do I need to purchase packing material?

I will add to this list as I think of things but my grandpuppy is giving me the 'really granny,  its walk time' look.

I have some great pictures of our German Shorthair Pointers enjoying some popcorn that one of my very first EO eggs shipments arrived in. It would be a good alternative for the styrofoam pellets but I really do like wrapping the eggs in bubblewrap too. Thanks yb I will try to remember that!
