Outright Brag

Ok I can't help it, though it was by far just me involved, so its okay right? Last winter, a bunch of us each made a quilt block for a cross Canada quilt. It was made by members of the ACE forum and then "raffled" off to members. The proceeds went to Heifer International to buy a family in need some farm animal(s). Now I had never made a quilt block before. Didn't own a sewing machine and had never sewn a stitch but I wanted to be part of it.  My 7 year old daughter was all gung ho. We bought aa machine, learned a few sewing techniques and made a block (she was much more of a natural than I was).  Well today, the members of ACE who took part in this wonderful project won the "Arthur Award" from Stuart Maclean on the Vinyl Cafe (CBC radio). I feel very proud to have taken part in such a worthy project. What a neat experience :)

Re: Outright Brag

I have to say it was fun to be part of it although I did not do a square I did enter my name with a donation :) SLF you are lucky to have won a table runner, every piece was so beautiful! Susan you must be so proud to have involved your daughter in something so 'giving', it will be something she will always remember. What a great way to instill such important values in a child, way to go!
