Wind Storm!

Just to let everyone know we had a nasty wind storm come through Wednesday night and last through the day yesterday. Over 120km/hr winds. It knocked out power, internet, cell service etc. in many areas. Also sucked the skylight out of my house, flooded my basement and lots of other fun things.

As of this morning I still have not internet at home so if you don't see much of me for a few days don't take it personally!

Sending this from work so need to keep it short!

Re: Wind Storm!

We got the same system. I was shocked nothing was seriously damaged here. Not fun!

Thinking of you PG! :happycrowd"

When all else fails, go spend time with your chickens. :)

Pens are currently filled with Red Cuckoo (Marraduna) and Red Basque (Gorria) breeders, Spitz, and Seramas.

Re: Wind Storm!

Who knew living without Internet was so difficult :nervous: Our nearest Internet tower was snapped in half by the winds (clocked at 146km per hour as the nearest weather station) so it will be weeks before we have service again.

Spent the weekend cleaning up and for the most part things are back in order. Some damage to tin on buildings will have to wait until spring.

Hope to never see winds that strong again!

Re: Wind Storm!

How did we ever survive without internet :funny:

It's funny how you do miss it when it's gone and how things have changed.  I know with work all correspondence whether it's from a virtual staff meeting, any changes to protocol, questions, issues all get sent via email now.  So I was sort of forced to get a computer or I think I would still not have one.  Although I would miss my "chicken forums" :group talking:

Hang in there and I hope you get back up and online soon!!
