Re: My other addiction.... gardening

Hey Bessie. thanks for the input.  I do have Weigela, the leaves are smaller and they have more of a trumpet shaped flower.  I am an idiot for not keeping the tag, I think I will remember it......and I don't :banginghead:

WOW! Beautiful gardens you have!
Mine have been unloved for a bit but I've been working through the nettles, wasps, mosquitoes and poison ivy to get them back in tip top shape lol

Re: My other addiction.... gardening

Thanks everyone =D  I love my gardens and beside all the work as with the chickens they are my therapy when I have had a crappy day I either go into the barn or out in the garden.

Sara you seem to have a lot of interesting Hosta's at your place just from your posting on PSO.  When you were diving them I was wishing I lived closer

Re: My other addiction.... gardening

yardbirds your right it does have a magnolia "look" to it.  My son's girlfriend works at the garden centre that I purchased it from.  She is a Landscape Architect graduate and is great at plant identification so I am going to have her look at it.
Thing is a magnolia bloom starts out as a longish pod this started out as a round ball before it bloomed

Re: My other addiction.... gardening

I'm thinking more in the Hydrangea family than Magnolia...

The leaf and branch structure looks hydrangea-y to me  - but I cant find any with single flowers like that.

Re: My other addiction.... gardening

Your right MD the leaves are more Hydrangea - like but the flower sure isn't.
