Easter Arrivals

http://i1342.photobucket.com/albums/o774/Pictonmj/DSC03132_zps0e1a78bf.jpg
Here are a few pictures of the 20 chicks that have hatched so far.  One has splayed legs so we are treating this with a band aid and keeping our fingers crossed.  Hard to take photos when they are so inquisitive they rush to the camera as soon as it appears.

Re: Easter Arrivals

Hi Hollowridge, so far the chick count is 20, not too bad bearing in mind we used a home made incubator and quite a few of the eggs were 10 days old or more..  I am going to have to ask Susan about the chick with the eyeliner as he came from one of her group.  He is a little beauty though, I am hoping "he" will be a she so we can get more next year.

Cool about the home made incubator, not telling hubby about that, need him on the addition to the coop!  And hopefully eyeliner cutie will be a she !!  They grow so quick, we have 2 foot sides to our brooder and in just over a week we are having to put up the extra netting sides to keep the little ones from the chance of flipping over it.  Active little cuties at times!!  So enjoyable to watch.  I like having the E.O.'s with the Australorps; think that the touchy feely E.O.'s is rubbing off on some of our A's.  They are starting to let us touch them more.  Last year’s would run for the hills!!
