Cujo & The EO

I had to take some pictures as this one EO hens loves to come and see my puppy every morning.  Georgia AKA "Cujo" is 9.5 months old and has always come out with me in the barn to feed the chickens.  Well jut recently this one EO hen has decided she wanted to see what the dog was all about.  Had to share them I thought they were pretty funny.  I have posted them as the events happened.

Re: Cujo & The EO

very cute. love that hen she is very pretty.
one of the chickens I had in Calif used to follow my cat around. it was pretty funny. the cat would stop, turn around, hiss at her and run. she was a Silver Laced Wyandotte.

I added a couple more pictures since your post NP.  The hen will actually poke her beak right up the pups nose and the pup could care less.  Got to the love the EO's they are so blase about most things.

Re: Cujo & The EO

That is too cute FRF, wish I could find a dog that was friendly to chickens.  Our last dog killed most of my roos and we had to rehome her.

Re: Cujo & The EO

Well I don't trust her because if a chicken goes into panic mode, then she's on the hunt and am afraid she would kill one.  She does try to get them going when she is passing a pen to try and get them flying.  The chickens have a free range area that is fenced so she can't get in.
Sorry about your roosters :(

Re: Cujo & The EO

I was worried about our dogs but now they ignore the chickens looking for their poo. I guess that stuff is pretty tasty. Wonder how I can sell it as a dog treat. It is funny to hear them crunch it when it is freezing. Maybe I should get them an ice cream cone.

My two are the same. What is it about chicken poo? of course I have a heart attack if I catch Belle eating anything except her dinner. She has been so ill that  now I'm paranoid. :nervous:

Some of us are driven by the need to make animals a part of our lives. We are soothed by their presence, fascinated by their behavior, and amused by their antics.

Re: Cujo & The EO

I know chicken poop pate seems to be loved by all dogs   Now when I purchased this pup the lady had chickens running around free range with the puppies so she has known what a chicken was since very young maybe that's why she likes the poop so much.  I deworm her once a month with Trifexis and every third month with Drontal just to keep all the GI nasties away.

I hear you LL, Tillie has the same issue as Belle and I have a fit each time she goes out to the pile to have a "feed".  Mark is pretty good about going out with tractor once I have cleaned out the coop and bury it.
