Hatch Day March 24th results

:surfing:  Well, this time around has been a lot less stressful.  Still waiting and hoping for a few more pipped eggs to :chickout: .

9 out of 10 lockdown ameraucanas
2 out of 5 lockdown barnevelders with 2 pipped ( :please: hatch )
4 out of 10 lockdown welsummers with 3 more pipped ( :please: :please: :chickout: )

Only assisted the 1st pipped egg and it appears to be doing ok.  ( it was an ameraucana that pipped Saturday night )

:pics: to follow once they are all fluffed out and muckin about.

 I don't know about low stress... the power went out just before I had to go to the dentist's office.  I threw on a blanket and told the babies they were on their own! Argh! No time for generator switching.  It came back on after about 90 min, so hopefully they are okay. :chook: :happybday: :chook:

Re: Hatch Day March 24th results

Thanks :jumping:

5 out of 5 barnevelders
9 out of 10 ameraucanas
7 out of 10 welsummers with the 8th pipped
1 ameraucana and 2 welsummer eggs will remain till day 23 just in case....

Assisted 1 ameraucana on Sunday and 1 welsummer today (welsummer was shrink wrapped as 1/3 of the shell was gone but the membrane was sticky and the outer membrane almost rubbery tough; that was at lunch and so far so good....can't tell which ameraucana it was that I helped)

To me this has been an amazing hatch and the most calm and most fun.

Not bad for shipped eggs end of February...one of the welsummers was dated Feb 20  and it was one of the first wellies to hatch.

Re: Hatch Day March 24th results

I may lose one of the ameraucanas....am sure it wasn't the assisted one cuz those were fluffier and this one isn't as dry but is very sleepy.  I separated it from the rest so it can rest and not get trampled and gave it a wee bit of vitamin water mix (poult vite) we'll wait and see what transpires. Need to check on that last pipped wellie though..... :roadtrip: (the closest to mad dash and there isn't a nose pressed up against the bator view window icon)

:jumping:  It's almost out....  :chickout:  :excited:  That makes 22 out of 25.  :jumping: :jumping: :jumping:

Re: Hatch Day March 24th results

Here are a couple pics ( wish I would have used a solid color towel instead of this one )
the welsummers look honey colored some of them (and are almost all grouped together like the barnevelders)
