Love the color of those girls. I just haven't seen that darker orange color down here. Mostly blondes and millies.

Re: 10 Weeks Old EOs from Flat Rock Farm

Now that I know these big babies are keepers I can name them.  Just haven't had time yet!
The big boy has side sprigs.  Why do my big boys have to have side sprigs?  :banginghead:  Where are the sprigs coming from?  To my knowledge it isn't in the father or grandfather of these birds...
I guess I'll have to focus on the other qualities of shape, size, than colour and do comb last.  I have two boys here that are perfect but small compared to my main boy. Maybe I will keep them to cover any pullets that have nice big shape. size next year.

I can't see his comb clearly for the sprigs.  I am so sorry none of mine have it??  So not sure how that gene works??  None of my EO have ever had them, the first hatch I did I had a ton of crooked toes but culled them all so as not to pass it down to offspring and I have never had a crooked toe since.

Oh those girls are gorgeous. That caramel color is just what I'm looking for in mine. I got a 2 month old last week with nice color, and a cockerel that bids fair to heading up my Zilarra project...I'll link in another thread.
