The Flock at 6 Weeks

My little flock is now 6 weeks old today.  Out of the 14 Skyline chicks that I got: 6 were pullets and 8 cockerels.  A large group of them went to AL last week, and some locally.  I currently have 6 still here - 4 pullets that I am keeping, and 2 cockerels that are available.

Re: The Flock at 6 Weeks

My 2 year old daughter and I renamed "Pink" and "Yellow 1" when they arrived in Texas.  Pink (now "Doc") is a lot smaller than Yellow 1 (now "Pita") but is the clear dominate male. They now look nearly identical, exept that they have differnt type combs, and Pita (yellow 1) has more chestnut color on the shoulder of the wing than Doc (pink).

They are currently with our Basque pullets "Cotton" & "Candy" (yes these were both named by my 2 year old when they were fluffy little chicks.  I think she though the fluffy down would taste like sugar, but we never let her try), two Blue Breda "Thing 1" and "Thing 2", and a Birchen Marans pullet named "Cookie".

I will get up-date photso posted of these boys up some day.  :-) (Probablly after Terra-blue post up-dates of her pullets) :-)
