Day 17 eggs

I have just checked my E0 eggs who are at Day 18. Of the 24 I got 2 were clear and 1 had a blood ring. Of the 21 left 16 eggs look completely dark instead except for the air cell. However I have 6 that have a clear area at the bottom. Does this mean these eggs have not developed properly and probably won't hatch?

Re: Day 17 eggs

They could be smaller chicks or just stopped growing recently.  How you will know for sure is mark them and see if they hatch, if none do, then you know it's a bad sign.  Have you had temp fluctuations in the past 3-4 days?

Re: Day 17 eggs

I have put big ? on them. We haven't had any temperature spike in the last few days apart from lowering the temp because the eggs are heating up. The air cells look about the right size though.

Re: Day 17 eggs

these eggs did not go through the mail, correct? I saw some weird stuff on some of mine, but i chalked it up to shipping issues.

These eggs weren't shipped so it's not that. I just posted that I love your candling pictures and asked if we could sticky them

Re: Day 17 eggs

Even just being in a vehicle and travelling an hour can mess them up, the vibration for all that time, is still more than just hatching your own, if you have a few like that and they end id definitely dead, it could have been some environmental factor around hat time though.  As most of the "damaged embryo" scenarios seem to do the blood ring and not get past the 5 days or so.

Re: Day 17 eggs

Well I'll look at them again today, raise the humidity up andlock it down. Cross my fingers, say a little prayer and see what happens.
I'm going to put some sponges in this time too. how many should I use?
