Picture of the new and old girls all together

I thought long and hard about separating the girls to start with, which meant putting them into the old coop we want to tear down, which is where they always get mites. Or I could put the 8 new girls in with the 10 original girls and the roo. I know some do a quarantine time and I hope that I won't regret it but they all got put together when the new girls arrived. There was very little hen pecking, this is what I was hoping for as the new birds were almost same in # as the originals. The new girls consist of three 1 year old hens and 5 POL pullets which had not been housed together. All the new girls got dusted and Noromectin drops and leg bands, although there was not a bug to be seen. I am so not taking that chance. As for disease, guess I'll keep my fingers crossed. I wish I would have taken pictures of the farm where I got them. What a beautiful piece of property and impeccably clean with tons of coop/run areas and beautiful birds. What a lovely gentleman, he needed the space to concentrate on breeding his chocolate Austalorpes, so it was the EOs he decided to sell, lucky me.....
