Hi from Alberta!

I'm just outside of Calgary and do not have any EOs yet ... but maybe soon, by end of June - fingers crossed!

Re: Hi from Alberta!

Hello & :welcome: Glad you joined our crazy bunch. I hailed from Edmonton and I still believe that heaven resides out West. I know you will enjoy having EO's as they are such friendly, curious and beautiful birds. :Canada:

Some of us are driven by the need to make animals a part of our lives. We are soothed by their presence, fascinated by their behavior, and amused by their antics.

When all else fails, go spend time with your chickens. :)

Pens are currently filled with Red Cuckoo (Marraduna) and Red Basque (Gorria) breeders, Spitz, and Seramas.

Re: Hi from Alberta!

:welcome: New2Chickens from a few hours north! Be careful as first you have a couple, then a small flock and then you lose count of how many EOs you have :chairhide:

Re: Hi from Alberta!

:welcome: To the site.  EOs are the best chickens so consequently the best breed for anyone new to chickens, though they will spoil you for all other breeds, ask Maggies Dad!!

Re: Hi from Alberta!

I started chickens two summers ago, lost them to predators.   Started again last summer and didn't have any predator problems until recently, but that problem has been solved now too.   I have 3 Australorps, 2 mutt cochin crosses, 3 Cuckoo Marans,  2 GL Wyandottes, 2 SL Wyandottes, 1 Red Rock Cross, 1 ISA ... recently lost my ameracauna, so I'm missing the green eggs already.   My mutt cochin is sitting on eggs right now, so hoping they hatch into something wonderful on Saturday.   I'm hoping to get some EOs towards the end of June from a lady near Edm.  Can't wait!
