EO's now in Chesterfield VA

Hello - I recently bought Laingcroft's extra pair of EO's and they have settled in very well.   Expecting 12 eggs from Skyline to hatch this coming weekend.

I also have Light, Silver, Coronation and Speckled Sussex, Swedish Flowers, and a mix of other bantams and long-tails free-ranging at my place.

Really looking forward to the hatch and to helping preserve this breed.

Jeanne

Welcome to our forum. I'm sure you'll enjoy the friendship and help found here. They are the best group of people you could ever miss to meet.
Happy Mother's Day. Paula you should ask if Swedish Flower Chickens have ever made it over the border. If not I feel a :roadtrip: coming on :funny:

Some of us are driven by the need to make animals a part of our lives. We are soothed by their presence, fascinated by their behavior, and amused by their antics.

Re: EO's now in Chesterfield VA

Welcome Jeanne! I hope you love the birds and the company here! :welcome:  Three of us up in Ontario actually to a Road trip to Virginia to met some of our Southern EO friends at the beginning of March.  you have joined a fun helpful and slightly eccentric group here! I can't wait to see pics of your chickens!

Good luck with the hatch.  I have a fresh EO chick in the bator right now, only 29 more to go! :nervous: :hatch:  It sounds like people have been have great hatches with James' eggs so you are in a good spot!

Re: EO's now in Chesterfield VA

:welcome: :EO: You have a nice variety of breeds.  Silver Sussex are very nice, I used to have a Bantam SS cockerel growing up.  Almost like a reversed silver laced.

Lynn, I believe Gwen from Skarabrea farms imported some Swedish Flower hens from Greenfire Farms this year.

Herd of Brown Swiss, a few sheep, red cuckoo basque, Silverspangled Appenzeller Spitzhauben, ameraucanas(EE), Welsummer, broodie silkies and a few more heritage hens
