Hi! From NC

Hi!  I'm from Reidsville NC and I'm on the list for the EO eggs from Skyline and I can't wait! I have noticed most of the breeds I have are black and white and I would like some chickens with color that are easy going and lay large eggs!  I seen the EO thread on BYC and fell in love with them.

I have Light Brahmas, BR, blk australorp, Dorking hybrids, BBS Ameraucanas, and Silkies. I have 3 boys and a wonderful husband who puts up with my chicken addiction, 2 dogs, and 1 cat.

:welcome: reereechickens to the EO site.  I have seen the sign for Reidsville on my way to Savannah GA to visit relatives.  You will love these chickens when you get them, never had any like them before.

:welcome:  ReeRee chickens! :jumping: Great to see you here.  I bet you can't wait to get your EO hatching eggs!  How far are you down the list for Euskal Oiloas?  Do you have to wait long?

I have a few black chickens as well!  And lots of lavenders!  The Eos lay a fair number of a big shiny eggs!  I think they will be exactly what you are looking for.

Re: Hi! From NC

Hi!  Today our weather is very hot 98 degrees and right now storms to the south of us.

My Dorkings are a SG Dorking rooX RIR and BSL hens.  The person who I bought them from had 2 beautiful SG Dorking roos and could not find a hen, so she used the RIR and BSL.  They are friendly and interesting colorwise!

My Silkies 3 White and 2 Buffs.  I'm not exactly sure of the sex on 1 white and 1 buff.

As far as where I am on the list for EO, I think I need to email Skyline to see where I'm at.  I'm #25.  Is there somewhere on his website showing this?

Thanks for the warm welcome!:jumping:

Re: Hi! From NC

That sounds too hot down there.  Hope the storms miss you!  I have no idea about the list but I think he must be shipping eggs soon!  Dorkings are awesome birds, Poplargirl loves them too.  The hens have a nice docile temperament.   Those silkies are hard to sex too!  Gubi is the silkie expert here!

Re: Hi! From NC

We you must be a patient individual....25 sounds like a l o n g wait to me too. But worth the wait I think!

I have 13 new EO babies hatched last night and today. 5 more eggs that I am still holding out hope for. EOs seem to be very abundant egg layers. It's nice you can tell the roosters from the pullets by about 2 weeks as well.

Too bad your neighbour could not find some girl dorks but I am sure the crosses are nice too! Mine aren't as friendly as the EOs, more timid and polite, but I certainly do like them. Who can resist those cute little pink  5 toed feet and short legs?

Re: Hi! From NC

Not so much little pink feet as enormous pink 5 toed feet!  It balances out the top heaviness so they dontl topple over , sounds like we need some chick pictures =D

Re: Hi! From NC

Isn't it irritating when visitors get in the way of the :chook: addiction?  I have suffered that same dilemma many times...and even for house showings this year!  We'll look forward to them when you are ready! =D

Re: Hi! From NC

Reereechickens you are not  some men (mostly boys) DO make the bathroom smell like pee. It is just me and the DH and he seems pretty well house trained so it's not so bad. I giggled quite a lot at your statement...AND cleaning the bathroom became less of a chore through sharing with everyone so thanks for the help!

Pictures will be coming, hopefully tonight! I took a few just was too tired to post them.

Boy Do I know where you're coming from. I have 4 brothers, 2 sons and a husband, 3 grandsons so I can vouch for the fact that they can't aim straight. I have spent a lifetime cleaning bathrooms..... and bedrooms and cooking and cleaning every where else. Just one sister, daughter, granddaughter would have been great but.....

Yes I emailed skylinepoultry and he emailed me back.  I know he is really busy and hasn't started mailing any yet and is waiting for the eggs to get bigger and stronger for the shipping.
