What is Currently in My Breeding Pens

So after doing the hatch with all the EOs together, I have now put two select groups together. The Gorria trio of Romeo, Juliet and Rosaline will soon be joined by 2 more Gorria from PG, making a quint. Then there is the "Apollo" quint with my 4 best Marraduna hens. I am really excited to see what comes from this group. I will post some pics after Pops emails them to me. I still have Sparkle heading up the group of my other EO hens, but am not currently hatching from them as there is a lot of "milles fleurs" type mottling in them. So, for now, I will only be able to ship 2 dozen eggs of the Marraduna and or 1 plus? Of the gorria in each shipment.

Re: What is Currently in My Breeding Pens

Need pictures :pics: Go Pops! Do you know if the girls in with Apollo are BHR or SLF/Susan origin?

Any chance I can trade you those two gorria hens for some eggs from the Apollo quintet :P? Probably not as I'm guessing you already have orders for eggs the week after Easter. Can't blame me for trying though...

I think my DH is starting to get nervous about my spring hatching plans :nervous:

Should have pics later today. There is one bHR hen, one SLF, and two of SLF/mine. I'll see what I can do PG!

Re: What is Currently in My Breeding Pens

Sounds great Susan! :net::hatch:  I plan to switch mine up as the season goes on too.  I want to put Sunny (Blondies pale boy) in with the yellow legged Mommas from last year and see what we get.  He is lovely and it's shame not to use him.  Looking forward to pics  :pics: and eggs!

Re: What is Currently in My Breeding Pens

Oh and the reason there are so many birds in the pics is because I have Apollo et all in with the chicks from this year's hatch.

Which on is the BHR girl Susan? The lighter hen in the last picture?

Re: What is Currently in My Breeding Pens

Very nice!  I like them a lot.   How many did you hatch last year to select those 4 from?  I have 2 hens from Claire that look just like the hen in the last picture.

Herd of Brown Swiss, a few sheep, red cuckoo basque, Silverspangled Appenzeller Spitzhauben, ameraucanas(EE), Welsummer, broodie silkies and a few more heritage hens
