New Chick Pics EOs have all hatched

We now have 16 EOs and 7 MF, out of all the eggs that I got from Susan only one did not hatch and that egg was infertile, we also have  2 Silkoiloa. There is also one older chick in the pics to help train them to eat. :applause: Next hatch will be The 8th all candled and all good, then the next hatch after that will be December 15 and they all look good.

Pops,

:congrats: on such a great hatch! What kind of incubator are you using? I'd love a hatch rate like that....=D

When all else fails, go spend time with your chickens. :)

Pens are currently filled with Red Cuckoo (Marraduna) and Red Basque (Gorria) breeders, Spitz, and Seramas.

Re: New Chick Pics EOs have all hatched

I have 3 Sportsman and a Sportsman Brooder, I do not always use the brooder but did this time, moved eggs 3 days before hatch date, I have never doen that in the past I move them about 24 hour before.  My hatch rate on fertile eggs is about 90% or more. This past summer I hatched about 2300 chicks and 450 Guineas and about 240 peafowl.

I wish I could find a Sportsman within my budget.  My friend Brigitte has one and she has awesome hatch rates as well.

Re: New Chick Pics EOs have all hatched

I am pretty sure I'm am just looking for a couple of old sportsmen like I had before.  I am not working much this winter (not booked at all!) so those are the best way to get something cheaper, that'll do more eggs and familiar to use.  They work nicely and we know how to fix them now too!

Re: New Chick Pics EOs have all hatched

THREE sportsmans..... sigh.

So how do several enterprising young(ish) women in Ontario effectively lean on a sportsman salesguy and squeeze a great deal out of him?? (Any ideas Skef, Flat Rock???)?=D

Re: New Chick Pics EOs have all hatched

I probably should have bought yours Claire last spring instead of buying a second hovabator.  But then again I can get myself into enough trouble with one hovabator let alone two!
Nice chicks pops, did you get any with twisted toes?  I have a young rooster here that has both feet twisted but he is the biggest and nicest rooster other then the feet and legs.  :eat:

Herd of Brown Swiss, a few sheep, red cuckoo basque, Silverspangled Appenzeller Spitzhauben, ameraucanas(EE), Welsummer, broodie silkies and a few more heritage hens

Re: New Chick Pics EOs have all hatched

None of the EOs have twisted toes but one og the MFs has very bad feet.
