I am very sad one of the hens I just got from Susan has disappeared I let them out at about 4 let her walk out a little bit and took her back to make sure she knew how to go back in and I did this again because I wanted to make sure she knew how to get in.
I watched them for about an hour and decided that they would not go very far and I sent in I went out at seven to lock them in and she was gone. I looked for an hour and a half and my mother looked for about a half of an hour. In the morning I worked for about two hours and my mother looked for an hour I still can’t find here and I am hoping she will reappear.

Re: My new hen missing

Oh no JCE!!!  Have you tried my "Chicka Chicka, Chicka" call that you tease me about?  If that doesn't work, I'd be surprised. Good Luck.

Re: My new hen missing

Yes Susan I tried it last night and a bit this morning.
I am thinking it was a bird of prey because there is no feahters.
It also may have been a coyote if she ran off but if she was anywhere near us she would have come.
It was the one wil the white legs.
I am sad ablout loosing her.

Aaw, I hope she shows up, she still could.  Maybe put some corn or scratch down, they are greedy and if she is close by she'll know if there's food. :chook:  I hope she comes back.

Re: My new hen missing

Any luck? I talked to your Mom yesterday and she said the coyotes had been really close. I'm sorry.
