How old should the cockerals be before processing?

I know this question came up before, and the answer was something like "when they are really annoying". My boys are 19 weeks, and are just not that annoying. But it's getting closer to winter, and I have to start dealing with housing issues.

Any guesses on a good age at which to process for max. meat? (sounds hard, but if they are going to be sacrificed anyway, I want to make sure it is for maximum utility)


When all else fails, go spend time with your chickens. :)

Pens are currently filled with Red Cuckoo (Marraduna) and Red Basque (Gorria) breeders, Spitz, and Seramas.

Mine are around 25 weeks and feel pretty hefty. I think they could be done now. I just haven't decided if I will rehome them or eat them.
