Waiting List for EO hatching Eggs 2012

It may seem a bit early, but I already have people requesting eggs for next spring, so I have begun a waiting list. I will try to fill orders as they are received, but it will be weather dependent as most will probably be shipped. My plan is to start pair or trio breeding in February. I will be posting on here which birds I plan to use together (and looking for opinions as well :) ) feel free to email or PM me if interested.

Re: Waiting List for EO hatching Eggs 2012

How nice of you.  If you lived closer I'd put myself on your list :)
I am looking forward to chicks in the Spring but I guess I'll have to hatch them out myself.  I used to have a few really nice hens that would always go broodie but sadly they are all gone.  I guess I'll have to get an incubator.
Good luck in the Spring!

Re: Waiting List for EO hatching Eggs 2012

Just FYI, I am going to advertise on other forums soon. This isn't to pressure anyone, just want to make sure all the users on this forum get first dibs. I am hoping to be done breeding pens by the time the weather is nice enough for them to free range, so won't be offering eggs after April probably.

Re: Waiting List for EO hatching Eggs 2012

You got it Claire! YH, hopefully we can figure it out over the winter. If we have to drive them over the border or meet, Claire will probably be your best bet as I am 6 or 8 hours from the border.

A combined pickup might be possible..., say I could make a run to the border, and bring them back to VA and you slide up my way for a handoff...

Just a thought.

Re: Waiting List for EO hatching Eggs 2012

So if one drives eggs over the border are there any permits required?

Yes, unless the eggs are "table eggs" a permit would be required to cross the boarder.

Re: Waiting List for EO hatching Eggs 2012

Ha ha, yep EOs produce amazing table eggs ;) I think the limit is officially 1 dozen table eggs per person though that should be checked on.  Just a personal trip to meet friends in the USA

So...   I haven't run across this yet,  How is Skyline's EO flock related to Claire's flock if at all?

Re: Waiting List for EO hatching Eggs 2012

Some of Susan's birds are not from Claire though, some are from the Black Horse Ranch line. As far as I know all EOs in North America trace back to one source. Claire and Black Horse Ranch and others got chicks from that source and the rest is history :)

I will Paula! Though it may be early April, as I let my girls out to free range as soon as I can. Would that work?
