Marraduna pullets for sale

I have some layer/pet quality pullets and some breeder hens/pullets/ cockerels possibly for sale.  I had a good year with many nice pullets hatched.

Re: Marraduna pullets for sale

hum...a bit strange with the white bar.  She sort of has white bars in her body feathers too. Still a pretty nice looking EO  Darker than most of my marraduna.

Re: Marraduna pullets for sale

Beautiful girls Stefan!

And it's lovely to see so many bright yellow legs! How far we have all come from the days of blue, green and white legs.... =D

When all else fails, go spend time with your chickens. :)

Pens are currently filled with Red Cuckoo (Marraduna) and Red Basque (Gorria) breeders, Spitz, and Seramas.

Re: Marraduna pullets for sale

Out of all the chicks hatched I only had one that had the wrong colored legs.  I did have my old white legged marraduna hen in the breeding pen too.
This is the dad, he is one huge EO rooster but does have some color flaws.

Re: Marraduna pullets for sale

Very nice Gubi. Seems you have made wonderful strides on type, just a bit of work left on feather color maybe? Do those hens hide some grey? I find as females mature slight color flaws become almost impossible to see where as in the males it becomes more obvious.

Now just to convince you to ship me some eggs =D

Re: Marraduna pullets for sale

one of the two certainly does have some gray in her. I find the same the roosters will get more grey in their chests as they mature.  I can't take credit for those two hens they came to me via a trade with Micah and Kiah.  They are Elevator daughters out of the hens she got from me.   I find the EO pullets mature very nicely.  This spring those two still looked small to me but they have now caught up to the older hens.

Re: Marraduna pullets for sale

I have done okay with my gorria this year but I must admit my progress with the marraduna is a bit less exciting. I also like to hatch a few from others every year just to see how my birds out here in Alberta compare. So Paula....I may take you up on that or perhaps some of your eggs and some of Gubi's next spring. Thank you for the offer!!

La-chicken should be reading this....she has a trip to Ontario planned for this fall and could bring a couple nice birds back with her...

Re: Marraduna pullets for sale

Maybe you have already said but how old is He? Wondering about his weigh too, it would be nice to have an EO weight of a nice big rooster to continue comparing my rooster to.

Re: Marraduna pullets for sale

He was hatched last spring.  I haven't weighed him but he is solid.  One of these days I'll get around to that :chairhide:
