HELLO after a Long hard winter

It has been a long hard winter and I have been so very busy this year, I have to make some time to be on this site a bit more often, The birds have survived well, hardly any losses this winter, egg production fell from 3 dozen a day to 2 and 3 eggs a day. Yesterday they all wanted to escape when I went  into the coop, the peafowl are wanting to get out so bad, all the males have full tails.  Tuesday and Wednesday I am cleaning and putting new bedding in and will let everyone free range except the hens. I hope to start breeding with BCM and CM next week and then will concentrate on the EOs and Americana's  for the next 4 or 5 weeks after that and then the Sikies and Orrington's  for a bit, the pea birds look after themselves and so do the guineas, I just steel eggs and hatch. This year there will not be any were as many incubator  hatched as years past, am way to busy with my regular job, so the chicken count will be down to about 800 and the peafowl turkeys and guineas will be a couple hundred together.  Nice to read some of the posts and hope you all are doing well and your birds bring you as much pleasure as mine do me, :happycrowd"
