2013 Euskal oiloa (Basque) Survey

This is an invitation to anyone and everyone who owns or breeds Euskal oiloa (basque) chickens to complete an online survey about the breed:

http://www.surveyexpression.com/Survey. … 83b0876d19

The survey is intended to allow better understanding of the North American Euskal oiloa (EO) population, the reasons that poultry enthusiasts are choosing this breed, and the expectations and aspirations of EO owners. The intent is to repeat this survey on an annual basis.

They survey has three parts. Part A is directed towards all EO owners. Part B is intended for those who breed EOs. And Part C is optional and requests some information about the person filling out the survey.

A summary of the survey findings will be posted on the Euskal oiloa Chicken Forum (EOCF) and can be emailed to participants upon request if the necessary portions of PART C of the survey are completed.

Thank you in advance to all those who fill it out. Please feel free to share the link with other EO owners via email or other means. Any questions or concerns I would be happy to try to address and if anyone has problems with the online version please let me know and I can send the survey using another format.

I like this set up, but I had already printed it out from the old survey and mailed it to you.  Hope you got it :nervous:

I did get your survey in the mail FRF  there are a couple of questions I changed since then so I will check with you if I am not certain what your answer would be in the new format if that's okay?

Re: 2013 Euskal oiloa (Basque) Survey

We have 6 surveys filled out in part or whole so far.

And I see I unfortunately made an error on question 11. There is no option to indicate none of your marraduna roosters have entirely white or black tail feathers...oops! I can't modify the answers without deleting the responses received so far on that question. What to do what to do :nervous:

This is how I band aided my mistake, by adding this note to the question:

11. OF THE MARRADUNA EO COCKERELS AND ROOSTERS YOU HAVE OR HAD IN YOUR FLOCK THIS YEAR THAT REACHED AN AGE OF 8 MONTHS OR MORE, WHAT PERCENT HAD ENTIRELY WHITE OR BLACK FEATHERS IN THE TAIL OR ENTIRELY WHITE FEATHERS IN THE WING?

NOTE THERE SHOULD HAVE BEEN AN OPTION TO ENTER "NONE" FOR THIS QUESTION. PLEASE RESPOND BY ANSWERING "1-5%" IF YOUR ANSWER WOULD HAVE BEEN NONE.

It looks like that's how people have responded so far.

Thanks for that MD! I posted a link on WCPS and am asking permission to post on ACE a couple of our :Canada: forums.

And I haven't found time to fill out the survey yet either!!

Re: 2013 Euskal oiloa (Basque) Survey

I am please to say we have 12 surveys completed so far. And word is spreading many ways with just as many respondents hearing of the survey from other forums or from other EO owners as from EOCF itself so far. :EO:

I've shared the survey link with people who have EOs but don't normally do the forums.

Re: 2013 Euskal oiloa (Basque) Survey

We are at 35 surveys as of this morning. That's a whole lot of EO owners willing to take the time to fill out a survey and to me that translates into a a lot of support for the breed. EOs are some lucky chooks ;)

I really hope the number of surveys continues to grow as the more responses the better the information we gain from the survey will be.
