Brabanter! If you hatch some without beards with nice forward faceing crest I might know someone who'd be interested!

Re: First one out!!

Hey gubi are they not kind of related to the spitz??  They are neat looking birds and boy they lay a nice big white egg.

I think they will all have beards, I only got six eggs.  Watch they be all boys, my luck

Oh and 3 are pipped now

Re: First one out!!

They are very similar and there was probably some Brabanter blood early in the Spitz breed.

Re: First one out!!

Well they are all out so total count 5 Barbanter, 3 Coronation's, 1 Aruacana (it's double tufted :jumping:) 1 EO, 1 Black Mottled and 2 Blue Mottled D'uccle and 1 standard BLRW who is still drying off in the incubator.

Hey Kathy Mr. Handsome is a Daddy!!!  I had to help it out as it has been pipped since Wednesday, so I hope it survives.

I will post some pics later today

Re: First one out!!

:jumping:  :congrats:  Hopefully the one you helped is as strong and vigorous as the EO I had to help out my last hatch.  It had a distended bloody navel, umbilical cord attached and partial yolk sac and a piece of shell as well.  I did remove him from the incubator and put him on a clean cloth in my still air hova to ensure a clean environment and no bacteria from the remnants of his siblings hatch to recuperate. You would never guess to his traumatic start in life as to how boisterous he is now...actually don't know which is which out of the two of them.  =D  Look forward to pics....

Congratulations! :excited:    And congrats to Mr Handsome.  You know how much I love that boy, he is truely one in a million.  Since that new daddy shouldn't have a celebratory cigar, how about a wee piece of mozzorella? He loved it as a baby

I can't wait for photos!

:happycrowd"

Hey does that mean we are next?

We have a hatch due tomorrow.  There are some EOs in there, eggs given to me by Tricia.  It will be our third hatch of the year too!

All the best,

Araucana with double tufts (finally)!!

The whole gang.  The only way at this point I can tell which one is the EO is it is getting some wing feathers as it was the first one out.  The Corrie and EO's look the same as chicks until the start to feather out.

Re: First one out!!

I love the pic of the aracana in you hand, those tufts are so cute!
And the cream barbanter chick down is very interesting.

Seems your mottled d'uccles don't take the winter off like our other TPC either
