Yay!

We got our first egg today and it's a long pointy, shiny, EO egg! I was so happy I teared up. I was gone all weekend and came home to the first egg. I'll post a photo soon.

Re: Yay!

Congratulations!  My two pullets (supplied by pops coops) started laying within a week of each other and I am getting an egg from each everyday.  We have now started saving them up to put under our broody hen.  She is not an EO but a great mom.  In fact, I am not sure what she is.  I will have to post some pictures when she finally gets off the nest and see if the friendly experts on here can tell me.

Re: Yay!

I'm now not sure if it was Annie or Momma. Annie jumps the fence every morning, so unless she laid it really early it might have been Momma. But no egg today, so it could have been Annie. She also could have laid it in the woods.
