(Anonymous Poll for those selling hatching eggs)

A few members suggested an anonymous poll would be helpful as a gage of what the price range for hatching eggs of rare breeds such as EOs will be for in 2014.

There was a limit to the length of the question allowed, all prices listed that you can choose from are PER DOZEN.

The roo I sold her as part of the trio does look like his daddy did (Mr Studly). If I sell eggs again this year it will be between $25 to $30 per dozen. Last year I was able to take advantage of a lot of friends and they gave me all their saved boxes and bubble wrap but I have very little left and will have to purchase it.

It's true Monika, if you don't stash away saved bubble wrap and boxes.  If you have to go out and purchase them that really dips into what you get back from the egg sale.

Re: (Anonymous Poll for those selling hatching eggs)

The biggest factor for me is the cost of driving to the post office on a Monday morning to mail the eggs. I work Mondays (opposite direction from the post office) so mailing eggs also makes me late for work. Really it isn't economical for me to sell eggs at all unless I were to charge at least $40/dozen and I have trouble (so have not in the past) charging that much.

I prefer instead to do a few egg swaps as the eggs I receive in return have much more value to me and I know the person that my EOs eggs are going to will also place appropriate value. I realize though that does not help people new to EOs out so I occasionally make an exception.

I replied to post pg but then felt like maybe it would be a good thread on its own. I didn't want to highjack the thread but if you thinks its more appropriate here just go ahead and move it.
